Depersonalization is a dissociative disorder. People who have it often feel quite emotionally numb. They can also feel like they aren’t controlling their bodies and that everything is happening to someone else while they are just an observer. A common way of describing it is feeling as though you are separated from everyone by a glass wall. It’s a common condition yet largely unknown and treatments for it are not well known.
