Black Lives Matter. To those who say “all lives matter,” I reply that until Black lives matter, all lives do not matter. These are not just words to me and I am committed to becoming more educated in anti-racism so that as a member of society and as a therapist I may be a better, more helpful ally to Black people and people of color. To this end, I have joined a group of other mental health professionals which will be focused on educating ourselves and challenging each other on an ongoing basis. I am also interested in partnering with a local Black community organization to utilize my counseling skills and expertise about mental health as they would find helpful.
